Aviation Security

Safeguarding passengers, aircraft, airport facilities and aviation operations through effective security oversight and compliance with international standards.

History of Civil Aviation Security Section (CASS)

At the 33rd Session of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) assembly in 2001, Brunei Darussalam declared its clear position against terrorism and condemned all acts of unlawful interference against civil aviation.

Brunei Darussalam, through CASS, continues to intensify aviation security enhancement geared at achieving full implementation and enforcement of the ICAO Security Conventions to meet the requirements set by ICAO standards and recommended practices.

Established in 2006, this section currently regulates the security of Brunei International Airport, Cargo Facility, airlines, ground handlers, temporary and permanent identification passes.
